Looking for a few quick and easy ways to optimise your B2B content? Well you’ve come to the right place. It’s a bit like spring cleaning, sometimes you just need to spruce up what you have in order to optimise your space. According to Hubspot, 75% of blog traffic is still generated by older posts. So if you want to take advantage of the hard work you’ve already done but are short on time, here are 3 ways to quickly do just that.

  1. Add Visuals

With millions of blog posts and articles published each day, you need to have something that helps your content stand out. If you have previously published posts that don’t contain any visuals, now’s the time to update them. Take 15 minutes each day to review that content to see if it includes visuals, if it doesn’t go ahead and add some in. You can start small by adding a free photograph or two, then you can build up to creating your own visuals – such as charts and infographics – to use in your work. According to Hubspot’s research, infographics are shared 3x more than any other visual content on social media.

More evidence that visuals can make an impact in your content lies in the fact that 51% of B2B writers put visual content at the top of their list of priorities. Reading that sentence had some impact for you I’m sure, but when you take a look below you will see the difference that a visual representation of the facts can make.

 One last interesting statistic to back this idea up, is that when people hear information, they’re likely to remember only 10% of that information three days later. However, if a relevant image is paired with that same information, people retained 65% of the information three days later. Pretty convincing proof that visuals will surely help to optimise your content.

  1. Add a call to action

Another quick way to spruce up the content you already have, is to take a look to see if that content contains a call to action. If not, this is something you can quickly and easily add into any blog post, article or page of your website. Calls to action can be a valuable way to drive steady leads and sales from your content. 83% to 93% of leads for each post come from anchor text & internal link CTAs.

For a quick and easy CTA you can add buttons to contact your company with questions or comments. However, you can take this even further to enhance the call to action. If you have any exclusive content like demos of your products or white papers you’ve published, why not call your readers to download or stream those informative pieces of content.

  1. Post your social B2B content more than once

 If you have written an insightful article full of relevant statistics that educates and entertains– now is the time to get that information out into the world. Speaking of time, what time of day or day of the week should is best to publish your content? There is data out there on the best time to post on each of the social platforms and if you can, go ahead post away on all of them. However, we do know that for B2B content LinkedIn is #1, with studies showing that 80% of B2B leads come from LinkedIn, and 94% of B2B marketers use LinkedIn to distribute content. So for the purposes of this article we’ll stick to the best strategies for LinkedIn.

Since LinkedIn caters to the B2B crowd, the data shows that the best times to post are between 10am-12pm on Monday – Friday with Wednesday getting the best results. If you are looking to optimise your content, we suggest that you also repost outside of these parameters. We know it seems like a no-no to post over and over again because of abuses on other social media sites, but you actually need to repost content on LinkedIn if you want to take full advantage of their Pulse algorithm. Pulse is effectively LinkedIn’s version of a personalised newsfeed, also available as a standalone app, and allows users to see the biggest headlines and read top industry news of the day. So don’t be shy, get your content on, and on, and on that newsfeed so that it has a chance to reach the widest audience.
